Equipment used: Tracer gas, thermal imaging, moisture meter profiling, salts testing, endoscope survey and visual inspection.

When arriving at the property water ingress could be found around the tiled floor of the kitchen. When moisture meter profiling was completed readings of 999REL were presented.

We completed a thermal imaging survey, endoscope survey, salt testing, and carried out tracer gas but could not find the source of the leak. We even investigated the water meter movement, which was inconclusive.

Upon approval and through recommendation, we completed a trial excavation in the affected area, which presented water between the tiles and adhesive. But when excavating further it was dry.

When speaking with our client, they told us that they had a previous leak from their roof which was in above the affected area on the other side of the wall. Secondary damage in the kitchen was caused by this same leak.
