Equipment used: Visual inspections, acoustics survey, tracer gas, thermal imaging, endoscope survey and moisture meter profiling.
In this property, the living room walls had become saturated. By using moisture mapping, this helped us to confirm that the walls were 99% moisture content. Upon testing the pressurised heating system, it was found that there was no loss of pressure, indicating that the pipework was sealed.
To confirm this, acoustic testing was carried out by surveying the heating and hot water pipes. However, no issue was detected.

Similarly, a tracer gas survey was carried out on the external/ internal mains pipe at 2 bar pressure. This pressure held for over an hour, indicating to us that there are no leaks.
In contrast, a salts analysis test was carried out by taking a sample of the affected wall and then tested the sample for nitrates. This result came back positive instantly.
The final report suggested that a damp specialist should attend the property to investigate this issue regarding evaporation of soil moisture.
